Ardea Resources Limited (Ardea or the Company) is an ASX listed, Western Australia focused explorer and developer advancing its flagship 100%-owned Kalgoorlie Nickel Project (KNP). The KNP is a globally significant series of nickel-cobalt-scandium deposits which host the largest nickel cobalt resource in the developed world (826Mt at 0.7% Ni and 0.05% Co, with contained metal 5,817kt nickel and 384kt cobalt – ASX release, 15 February 2021).

The most advanced KNP project is the Goongarrie Nickel Cobalt Project (Goongarrie or GNCP) which is located 70km north of the City of Kalgoorlie with the Company one of a select few ASX listed companies maintaining a permanent operations office in Kalgoorlie. Maintaining this local presence, the Company thrives off the location, community support, skilled work force and world-class safety, environmental and operating standards.

Ardea is focused on the rapid development of Goongarrie towards production to leverage off the ever-increasing lithium-ion battery supply chain and the growing demand for ethically and sustainably sourced minerals.

Management Profile

Matthew McCarthy – General Manager, Exploration

Matthew McCarthy is a geologist with over 20 years experience in minerals exploration, and business development. He has experience in all stages of the exploration process and has worked across several commodities, with a particular focus on nickel exploration. He has been involved in major greenfields and brownfields nickel sulphide and gold discoveries in Western Australia. He has held previous Exploration Manager roles where he has provided leadership of successful exploration teams and completed resource definition programs, scoping and feasibility studies. He has managed joint ventures, completed project opportunity evaluations, commercial agreements and stakeholder engagement.

Mr McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours from the University of Western Australia, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.
