Over the past six years, Vinca has developed a transformational clean, safe, sustainable, non-toxic, non-aqueous, high-recovery (>90-99%) fast-acting molten salt critical metal extraction process which aims to improve the shortcomings plaguing hydrometallurgical toxic chemical leaching and pyrometallurgical high heat / toxic slag smelting extraction processes. Vinca stands alone in its field of scientific endeavour, with 3 granted US patents evidencing its novelty, while protecting its future path to commercialisation.
Vinca does not use either toxic chemicals nor ultra-high temperatures and produces no toxic wet or dry tailings wastes, only dry solid inert recyclable construction aggregate materials. Vinca also does not require any pre-treatments such as High-Pressure Oxidation or Roaster or Ultrafine Grinding, while adopting readily-scaleable known industrial processes.
Vinca’s key advantage is capturing multiple precious and base metals (such as Au, Ag, Pd, Pt, Co, Cu, Ni) during a single leach circuit; reducing flow sheet complexities for polymetallic ore deposits and thus improving the processing economics for multi-metal orebodies while opening additional opportunities in countries where toxic chemicals, such as CN and Hg, have already been banned. Being non-aqueous also enables Vinca to bypass typical passivation concerns for single/double refractory ores, delivering higher recoveries. Vinca’s standardised parameters are ideally suited both for large-scale single mine sites and regional processing centres. It is Vinca’s vision to process all precious greenfield polymetallic orebodies by 2030.
