Tim Carstens, Managing Director

Mr Carstens is an experienced mining executive, with a career spanning more than 20 years in senior resources-sector roles, both in Australia and overseas.
A chartered accountant by profession, he has strong experience in all aspects of business strategy development and implementation, acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity financing, organisational development and operational performance.
He has been Managing Director of Base Resources since the Company’s inception in May 2008.

Base Resources is looking to raise the profile of its existing operation in Kenya and its development project in Madagascar.


What recent news would you like to highlight to investors attending?

Base Resources released the Definitive Feasibility Study for the Toliara Project in Dec 2019 which confirmed a post-tax/pre-debt (real) NPV10 of US$652 million and an average revenue to cost ratio of 3.15 over the initial 33-year mine life.


What are your key goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months?

6 Months:
Progress offtake and funding arrangements for the Toliara Project.

12 Months:
Progress the Toliara Project to construction and secure mine life extension for the Kwale Operation.
