Kibaran is developing its EcoGraf battery (spherical) graphite business and Epanko natural graphite deposit in Tanzania to be major producer of premium, large flake for the traditional and battery graphite for the Lithium-ion battery market.
Both developments are long-life, highly profitable, scalable businesses and provide a combined NPV$356m.
Graphite is a major component of the Lithium-ion battery and the company has recently developed EcoGraf a proprietary eco-friendly purification process for the production of its battery (Spherical) graphite. EcoGraf is green environmentally friendly process which is commercially viable alternative to the existing Chinese supply.
Awareness for ethical raw materials is increasing from automobile manufacturers and the company is positioning to secure a large market share of this demand.
