Analyst Insight – provided by Independent Investment Research

Nomad Royalty Company is a TSX-listed, global acquisition-driven precious metals royalty company, with assets located around the world.

During February 2020, the company then known as Guerrero Ventures, announce that it had entered into definitive purchase agreements with funds related to Orion Resource Partners (USA) LP and Yamana Gold, to acquire two portfolios of royalty, stream and gold loan assets for a total consideration of $268 million and $65 million, respectively. Once the transaction closed, Guerrero changed its name to Nomad Royalty Company.

The acquisition included a combined portfolio consisting of 10 royalty, stream and gold loan assets, 7 of which are currently producing or expected to begin producing in 2020, and are expected to generate more than $30 million of operating cash margin in 2021. The group has acquired a pure-play precious metals portfolio with no operator buy-back rights on any of the contracts, with significant upside through resource expansions and mine life extensions.

The assets acquired from Orion comprise: the Blyvoor Gold Stream – Witwatersrand Gold Belt, South Africa; the Bonikro Gold Stream – Hiré, Ivory Coast; the Woodlawn Silver Stream and Lead Marketing Fee – New South Wales, Australia; the Mercedes and South Arturo Silver Streams – Mexico & Nevada; and the Premier Gold Loan – Corporate – Gold Deliveries.

The assets acquired from Yamana comprise: Riacho dos Machados Gold Royalty – Minas Gerais, Brazil; the Gualcamayo Gold Royalty and Deep Carbonates Project Commercial Production Payment – San Juan, Argentina; and the Suruca Gold Royalty – Goias, Brazil.

The deal sees the creation of a new growth platform with a mandate to pursue acquisitions with the support of Orion and Yamana. It also boasts a highly experienced and high-performance management team led by Vincent Metcalfe, Chief Executive Officer, and Joseph de la Plante, Chief Investment Officer, that have the expertise and relationships to build a world-class royalty company.
