Beowulf is advancing the Kallak iron ore project in northern Sweden through PFS and permitting. Kallak has the potential to produce a ‘market leading’ magnetite concentrate of over 70 per cent iron content with very low impurities, suitable for the green steel industry.

In Finland, Beowulf is developing a downstream processing plant, the Graphite Anode Materials Plant to supply the growing European lithium-ion battery industry. At the Aitolampi project, the Company has defined one of Europe’s largest flake graphite resources which represents a suitable future feedstock plant.

In Kosovo, the Company is exploring the Tethyan Belt, a major metallogenic province for precious and base metals.

Management Profile

Ed Bowie

Ed Bowie has over 20 years’ experience in the natural resources sector having worked in technical, corporate, advisory and fund management roles and across a broad range of commodities and jurisdictions.

What is your rationale for taking part in 121 Mining Investment?

The Company is completing pre-feasibility studies on its two core projects and is looking to broaden our reach with institutional and sophisticated investors.

What recent news would you like to highlight to investors attending?

30 September – Initiation of the Consultation Process for Kallak

5 September – Test-work confirms high grade product at Kallak

28 August – Update on Graphite Anode Materials Plant

What are your key goals in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months?

3 Months:

Completion of the PFS for the Graphite Anode Materials Plant
Completion of the Kallak Iron Ore Project consultation process, a critical step in the permitting process

6 Months:

Submission of the Kallak Iron Ore Project Environmental Permit application
Completion of the Kallak Iron Ore Project PFS
Completion of the EIA for the Graphite Anode Materials Plant

12 Months:

Initiation of the Feasibility Studies and progress with the permitting for both the Kallak Iron Ore Project and the Graphite Anode Materials Plant
Applying for Strategic Project status for our Finnish graphite business under the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act

What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?

Permitting challenges in northern Sweden – we have opened an office in the town of Jokkmokk and been working very hard to develop meaningful engagement with all local stakeholders.
Graphite / battery materials market and Chinese domination – we will be applying for Strategic Project status for our Finnish graphite business and looking to secure long-term partnerships.

What do you think makes your company such a compelling investment?

We have two core assets that have the potential to support the Green Transition. Demand for both high grade iron ore and graphite anode material is forecast to grow very significantly to feed both the green steel industry and the lithium ion battery sector. Both projects are advancing through PFS and permitting within the coming six months – critical de-risking steps.

What are the top 3 key investor takeaways?

Beowulf has a portfolio of high quality projects in tier one jurisdictions.

Demand for both our products is set to grow driven by the decarbonisation agenda, supply chain security, political interventions and lack of alternative supply.

Core assets are at major de-risking inflection points with both completing PFSs and with permitting in process
