– In partnership with local stakeholders, NNL will utilise modern exploration techniques on drill ready targets, intending to expand known mineralisation and ultimately develop traceable, sustainably sourced, low carbon, high purity, class 1 nickel sulphides and other battery minerals.
– NNL has raised AU$12,000,000 to commence the diamond drilling and geophysical exploration program.

 

– NNL has been selected to participate in BHP’s inaugural Xplor innovative accelerator program which is designed to support early-stage exploration companies looking for critical minerals required for the global energy transition. BHP (ASX:BHP) will provide the company with US$500,000 in non-dilutive funding to support and accelerate its exploration plans at its flagship Pulju Nickel Project in northern Finland

31 January 2023 – SECOND DIAMOND DRILL RIG ARRIVES AT NORDIC’S FLAGSHIP PULJU NICKEL PROJECT.

  • The delivery of the second diamond rig marks another key milestone in the Company’s inaugural exploration program where drilling is already well underway at the Hotinvaara Prospect following the delivery of the first diamond rig1 earlier this month.
  • The second diamond rig is the more powerful of the two rigs now operating at Hotinvaara and is available for Nordic’s exclusive use over the next three years under the agreement that was negotiated with Finland’s leading exploration drilling company, Kati Drilling Oy, prior to the IPO in June 2022.
  • It is intended that this second rig will operate continuously at Pulju for 14 months and will be used initially to test the base of the cumulate layer where accumulations of higher-grade massive sulphide nickel are typically encountered, along with the deeper geophysical electromagnetic (EM) anomalies identified during the 2022 geophysical surveys


17 January 2023 – BHP SELECTS NORDIC NICKEL TO PARTICIPATE IN ITS INAUGURAL XPLOR PROGRAM

  • Nordic has been selected to participate in the 2023 BHP Xplor cohort.
  • BHP will provide Nordic with US$500,000 in non-dilutive funding to support and accelerate its exploration plans during the Xplor Program period.
  • The Xplor Program provides participants not only with funding, but also with full access to BHP’s deep expertise and global partnerships.

 

6 January 2023 – FIRST DIAMOND DRILL RIG ARRIVES AT NORDIC’S FLAGSHIP PULJU NICKEL PROJECT

  • Nordic Nickel Limited is pleased to advise that the first of its two diamond drill rigs has now been delivered to the Company’s flagship Pulju Nickel Project in northern Finland.
  • The company’s 2023 exploration campaign can now commence, with multiple targets to be tested in the coming months at the Hotinvaara Prospect.
  • This first rig will be used predominantly to test a number of the shallower geophysical electromagnetic (EM) anomalies detected during recent down-hole EM surveys1, as well as to expand and enhance the existing near-surface disseminated nickel sulphide Resource2.
  • Preparations are being finalised to take delivery of the second diamond drill rig at the Hotinvaara Prospect, which is expected to arrive around the third week of January.

 

22 December, 2022 – NORDIC GEARS UP FOR 2023 DRILL CAMPAIGN WITH KEY APPOINTMENTS AND A SECOND RIG

  • Appointment of highly experienced nickel exploration team and acceleration of drilling plans with second drill rig secured for the Pulju Nickel Project in Finland
  • Nordic appoints expert technical team in Finland and Australia with unparalleled nickel exploration experience.
  • Finnish exploration team led by senior geologist, Juho Haverinen, who has been instrumental in recent nickel-copper discoveries in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt (CLGB) of Finland.
  • The Finnish team is supported by Nordic’s Australian team led by nickel expert and mining executive, Julian Hanna, and experienced geologist, Dr Lachlan Rutherford.
  • The Company has confirmed a second diamond drill rig, to commence in mid January also, to rapidly advance its exploration program at the Pulju project.
