The 100% owned resource is the largest known new conventional boron deposit globally, with added advantages through infrastructure access (rail, utilities). 5E produces boric acid and other biproducts via in-situ mining process, reducing cost, labor intensity, environmental impact, and streamlines production and processing vs. hard rock mining. 5E Advanced Materials is designated as critical infrastructure by U.S. Homeland Security and crucial to onshore U.S. defense supply chains, decarbonization & food security.

J.T. Starzecki, Chief Strategy Officer

J.T. Starzecki is a global mining executive, with extensive experience in the greenfield mining and minerals space focused on business strategy, market development, capital raising, project finance, government affairs and product placement. Prior to joining 5E Advanced materials, he was the Chief Marketing Officer for Anglo American Crop Nutrients, focused on building the largest organic fertilizer mining operation around the world. J.T. currently is a Non-Executive Director of Guardian Metals, an AIM-listed exploration firm focused on building a Tungsten operation in the United States. He has consulted on global mining projects in Australia, South America, Europe, and Asia, focused on anything from precious metals (Gold, Silver) to Battery Materials (Lithium, Nickel) and industrial minerals (Kaolin). J.T. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from St. John’s University.

Paul Weibel, Chief Executive Officer

Paul has broad global experience in financial accounting, administration, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, treasury, tax, and risk management of the daily operations. Originally, Paul was the acting CFO for American Pacific Borates US operations, where he optimized all financial processes and systems, installed HR processes, managed the IT organization and was a key partner to the operational leadership team. In 2022, became the Chief Financial Officer for 5E Advanced Materials, and also served as the Company Secretary for 5E Advanced Materials Board of Directors.

Prior to his role in ABR, Mr. Weibel was the Controller and Director of Operations for Blue Horizon Capital, an index, advisory and research company as well as Genlith Inc., a company focused on innovation and investments in sustainable new Energy Ecosystems. In his early career, Paul was a Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

What is your rationale for taking part in 121 Mining Investment?

We are looking for opportunities to raise strategic equity capital to bring into our portfolio of investors. We are interested in straight equity deals and are NOT looking for structured deals outside of large-scale project finance at this point in time.
