John Baffes a Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Prospects Group, currently managing the Commodity Markets Outlook, a World Bank semi-annual publication focusing on commodity market analysis and price forecasts. John has worked in several Units within the World Bank, including Latin America, South Asia, East Africa, Evaluation, and Research. He has published numerous chapters and articles in various academic journals in the areas of economic development, agricultural economics, resource economics, and applied econometrics. John is also teaching an executive training course on Applied Econometrics for Commodity Markets. He holds degrees in Economics (B.S., University of Athens, Greece), Agricultural Economics (M.S., University of Georgia), and Agricultural and Resource Economics (PhD., University of Maryland).
