Berlanga is a full cycle E&P company with a portfolio of Oil & Gas assets in Central Asia and South East Asia. The group was founded in 1992. In 2013 Berlanga participated in the onshore and offshore bidding rounds in Myanmar and was awarded onshore block MOGE 4 and offshore block M8, drilling will take place in M8 in 2020. Berlanga Thailand has a 20% stake in a portfolio of onshore Thai assets with 2P reserves of gross 27 MMbbl.

David Walker – Managing Director

David has over 25 years Investment Banking experience focused on the Natural Resource sector. David was previously Managing Director of Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank and Troika Dialogue in Moscow. David has a MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University.

Shyngys Kulzhanov – Managing Director

Shyngys has over 20 years of senior experience in oil and gas. Shyngys was General Director for 7 years of Kuat Holding, the largest Independent oil producer in Kazakhstan in 2009 and has played a key role in building and developing the portfolio assets of Berlanga. Shyngys holds an Executive MBA from CASS Business School and a BSc in Petroleum engineering from Kazakh Technical university.


What is your rationale for attending 121 Oil & Gas Investment?

Berlanga is preparing to drill offshore Myanmar Block M8 in the first quarter of 2020 targeting 2.4 TCF of gas. Berlanga will drill onshore Block MOGE 4 in the final quarter of 2020 and will look to participate in the next bidding round in Myanmar to further expand its portfolio. We would like to meet with potential investors who be interested in having exposure to SE Asia..

What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?

Myanmar elections will take place in November 2020, we are carefully monitoring the political situation in Myanmar and strengthening our relationships with MOGE and across the sector.
