Mapletree JV Buys 13 North America Data Centres From Digital Realty for $1.37B
A Singapore JV between Mapletree Investments and Mapletree Industrial Trust has finalized an agreement to acquire a group of 13 data centres in North America. The data centres were previously owned by Digital Realty in the USD 1.37B deal.
The deal has been done in parallel with the trend of rapidly increasing use of clouds, thereby driving demand for more server centre space.
The Singapore property firm had previously spent USD 750M to acquire its first 14 data centres in North America. The current deal will add 2.1 million square feet (195,096 square meters) to its existing facilities.
