Darren has over 25 years’ experience in software engineering. At Achillis, he was involved in the design and development work of a global supply chain management platform that is now widely adopted in industries such as oil and gas, utilities and transport.


Chris Justice – President & COO

Chrishas over 30 years’ experience in finance and as an entrepreneur, including as CEO of an Internet-focused media and advertising company that he led from start-up to NASDAQ IPO. Prior to co-founding Atlas City Chris was COO and Head of Europe for Janus Capital International.


What is your rationale for attending 121 Tech Investment?

We are looking for software (core blockchain protocol) focussed investors who are interested in web infrastructure projects. We are currently fundraising and are looking for equity investors interested in pre-series A projects.

The ideal investor type would be well connected in the tech sector and have a focus on investing in disruptive technology stacks, providing commercially viable, decentralised solutions to innovative companies.


What recent news would you like to highlight to investors attending?

In April we appointed Sir Mark Weinberg as chairman of the board. He has a long and distinguished career in the life insurance and wealth management industry for which he was awarded a kighthood from the queen in 1987. He started Abbey Life Assurance Company, Allied Dunbar Assurance and remains Life President of St. James’s Place plc, which now manages funds of approximately £100 billion


What are your key goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months?

3 Months:

Release beta test-net to a closed group of developers and third-party software developers. We will also launch the decentralised file storage network and a cryptocurrency wallet with the ability to work with many popular crypto-currencies. Collaborate with globally renowned researchers and academics to ensure bulletproof design, prior to public launch

6 Months:

Launch the public Catalyst Network, with the following functionality; confidential and non-confidential transactions, Smart Contracts in Docker containers, complete runtime environment, fully-functional and patented consensus module. Drive adoption and daily usage of the distributed file system and the crypto-currency wallet. Enable researchers, academics and critics to test, deploy and suggest improvements to network design and the token-economy.

12 Months:

Fully functional, commercially viable live and open source network, with a thriving community of developers, users and stakeholders. Atlas City will have a broad base of daily active users for its crypto-wallet, distributed file storage and it’s flag-ship Catalyst network. We expect to be revenue generating within the next 12 months, targeting Q3 2020.


What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?

The key risks faced by Atlas City are currently legal and regulatory by nature, the company is actively involved with regulators to define and tackle issues in the blockchain technology sector.

Poor perception of the blockchain & crypto-sector in the minds of businesses and individuals is another industry-wide issue. Atlas City is tackling this by engaging, encouraging and practising a highly-ethical approach to token generation events of all types.

Blockchain projects have run into various roadblocks as the technology has matured. The Catalyst network tackles the main issues facing blockchain adoption today by making integration with existing workflows easy and simple.
