Shaun Usmar, is the founder and CEO of Triple Flag Mining Finance Ltd. Shaun formerly served as SEVP and CFO of Barrick. He was as a founding member of the leadership team that grew Xstrata into one of the world’s largest diversified miners, serving as co-Head of M&A in London, CFO of the global Alloys business in Johannesburg and CFO of the global Nickel business in Toronto. Previously he worked at BHP Billiton in Corporate Finance in London, and started his career in the steel and aluminum industries as a production engineer. He serves as a director on the Peabody Energy board and on the Ontario Advisory board of The Children’s Wish Foundation. Shaun holds a BSc in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and an MBA.
