The recently renamed Thunderbird Resources (ASX:THB), formerly known as Valor Resource, is an Australian listed exploration company with a strategic focus on critical minerals exploration in Canada. With ambitions to embark on a period of high-impact exploration activity across it’s portfolio of uranium, copper and lithium assets in the Athabasca Basin and Ontario. The company has a strong track record of generating high-value projects and have recently streamlined their portfolio through the sale of the high-potential Picha and Charaque Copper projects in Peru.

Management Profile

George Bauk, Executive Chairman
Mr Bauk has extensive resource industry experience, both in Australia and overseas. Mr Bauk has held global operational and corporate roles with WMC Resources, Northern Minerals and Western Metals. He has overseen capital/debt raisings of over $350m and built significant operational teams. Mr Bauk has extensive experience in rare earths, gold, uranium and industrial minerals, including as managing director of Northern Minerals. Mr Bauk has explored uranium in Tanzania, US, Australia and Canada.

 

Robin Wilson, Technical Director
Mr Wilson has held senior exploration positions in several resource companies including Polaris Metals, Tanganyika Gold, Troy Resources, CRA Exploration and Northern Minerals. Mr Wilson has over 30 years of involvement in mineral exploration including 5 years in oil and gas. He has worked on gold, nickel, REE, uranium, copper, lithium and phosphate projects across the world, as well as leading the Northern Minerals exploration team and occupying the role as Exploration Manger for Northern Uranium in partnership with Areva Australia. Mr Wilson is currently an Exploration Manager for Firetail Resources.

What are your key goals for the next 3, 6 and 12 months?

3 Months:

Preparation for Hidden Bay Uranium Project drill program and Commence Frazer Lake Lithium Project drill program

 

 6 Months:

Hidden Bay drill program, Surprise Creek Uranium Project geophysics and drill permitting. Decision on Frazer Lake Lithium Project Acquistion.

 

12 Months:

Commence either Cluff Lake or Surprise Creek Projects, and/or follow up on Hidden Bay Drilling.

What do you see as the key risks and challenges facing your company at the moment and how are you overcoming these?

Our key risks and challenges are funding, but we aim to overcome this through the attraction of new funds from various parties.

Thunderbird Resources can be seen as a compelling investment due to our land positions, drill-ready targets, existing permits, our exploration approach, licence to operate and the exposure to clean energy commodities such as Uranium, Lithium and Copper.
